Clinical research allows researchers to better understand the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of a disease. For the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) community, clinical research helps us better understand what the risk factors may be for developing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, how to better use existing treatments available to patients, as well as test new treatment ideas for safety and efficacy, among others.

This presentation will provide an in-depth review of the clinical research process, as well as highlight the importance of pediatric IBD research.

This educational presentation was made possible through funding from PCORI, as well as the collaborative efforts of ImproveCareNow, NASPGHAN, and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation
