Patrick Y. Wen, MD, is a professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and director of the Center for Neuro-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in Boston, Massachusetts. After earning his medical degree from the University of London, Dr. Wen completed his internal medicine training at hospitals affiliated with his alma mater, then went on to pursue neurology training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square in London. He then completed a residency and fellowship through the distinguished Harvard-Longwood Neurology Training Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Wen’s research is focused on novel treatments for brain tumors, including targeted molecular therapies and inhibitors of angiogenesis, as well as neurologic complications of cancer therapy. Among his numerous accomplishments, he led an international group of investigators in drafting updated response assessment criteria for high-grade gliomas. Reports of Dr. Wen’s research have been published in numerous journals, and he currently serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Cancer Research, Annals of Neurology, and New England Journal of Medicine, among others.
